Lake Dan is located in the Wicklow Mountains, near the village of Roundwood. The famous Wicklow Way is nearby. The lake is a famous fishing spot. You can also go canoeing and boating here. There are hiking trails in the surrounding mountains with beautiful lake views.
The lake is shaped like a boomerang. Its length is 3 kilometers and the maximum depth is half a kilometer. Thanks to the waters of several rivers and streams originating in the Wicklow Mountains, its waters are very clean. This favors the occurrence of many species of fish. Lake Dan is eagerly visited by anglers.
The surrounding mountains are also popular with tourists because of the beautiful views. The National Scouting Center is also located on the lake. In 1997, a national scout rally was held here.
