St. Michael Schloss

The medieval castle was built on a rocky hill in the middle of a tidal island in Mount's Bay. Originally it was a monastery, the oldest preserved buildings date back to the 12th century. From the 18th century it was the residence of the St Aubyn family, and now belongs to the National Trust.

Sightseeing takes place with a guide who not only introduces the history of the island and the castle, but also tells about local legends and anecdotes. The sightseeing route runs through the Entrance Hall, the Great Hall with plaster stucco, the Smoking Room, which houses a treasury with valuable works of art, and the Great Library. During the visit, it is worth paying attention to the numerous decorations hanging on the walls, including family coats of arms, paintings and collections of white weapons and firearms.

Additional attractions await children, such as solving puzzles and puzzles. They can also take part in the search for the Giant's Stone Heart, the armor of the samurai warrior and ... the mummified cat.
