The facility is famous for having a kuros (meaning a figure of a naked man) dating from around 1500 BC. A 50-centimeter sculpture made of ivory covered with gold was found in the ancient city of Palaikastro. In addition, in the museum you can see finds from the Minoan period from excavations in Sitia, Zakros, Petra.
