Gramvousa Beach
Lokaler Name: Παραλία Γραμβούσας
The picturesque beach is located in one of the bays of the small island of Gramvousa. It can only be reached by a cruise ship which departs from the port of Kissamos. The beach is covered with golden sand that contrasts with the crystal clear water with a characteristic turquoise color.
The beach is great for swimming, sunbathing and snorkeling. It is a wild beach, protected under the Natura 2000 program, therefore it has no amenities. During high season you can sometimes buy snacks and drinks from the boats serving as floating bars.
From the beach, you can see the two most important attractions of the island. One is the wreckage of a ship that ran aground, and the other is the ruins of a fortress that stands on a slope above the beach. A steep path leads to it, which usually takes 15-20 minutes.
