Wasserfall Voile de la Mariée

Voile de la Mariée waterfall is a picturesque waterfall located 500 meters above sea level in the Salazie commune. It is surrounded by vegetation - bamboos, citrus trees, banana trees and peaches.

The name Voile de la Mariée waterfall means the Bride's Veil in translation. The name is associated with a legend about a wealthy man who, out of jealousy of his beautiful daughter, rejected all her suitors. One day, the girl secretly married her beloved man. When the father found the lovers and started chasing them, the panicked girl started to run away. The veil covered her face and she fell into the abyss, and the tears of her despairing father, weeping over her death, formed a waterfall.
