Kelonia in Saint-Leu is an aquarium and sea turtle observatory, connected to a research and care facility. Three large exhibition spaces are available for visitors. The first one is devoted to the habitats of sea turtles and presents a recreated nesting beach. There is an open sea-fed reservoir where you can see turtles from 4 different species.
The second space shows the relationship between sea turtles and various human communities over the centuries. There are, among others exhibitions devoted to cultural, mythological and religious issues. The third room presents the ecological aspect and the issues of protecting turtles against threats from human activities.
The spacious hall regularly hosts temporary exhibitions on a wide variety of issues related to the marine fauna and history of the region.
