Rosenkranzkapelle

The building from 1949-1951 is the result of a friendship between Henri Matisse (1869-1945) and a young nurse, Monique Bourgeois, who, after joining a Dominican monastery, proposed the artist to design a chapel. The simple construction evokes contradictory emotions to this day - some consider it a masterpiece, others point out its ugliness.
