Bercy Brücke
Lokaler Name: Pont de Bercy
The Bercy Bridge connects the Vincent-Auriol and Bercy boulevards. It is a pedestrian crossing and the sixth line of the Paris metro. The stone structure was built in the first half of the nineteenth century, but was rebuilt several times, and at the end of the twentieth century, a viaduct was added over it, on which the trains move.
The bridge was erected in 1832 on the site of an earlier, hanging bridge. It consists of five spans of equal length. At the end of the 20th century, a decision was made to rebuild the bridge to relieve traffic jams in the center of Paris. It was widened by two additional roadways, and over them a viaduct supported by small arches was built. It is intended for the movement of trains.
