Lokaler Name: Château d'Étampes
The only remnant of the medieval stronghold is the Tour de Guinette - a keep from 1140. The surrounding castle was probably built around the 10th century - its end was sealed in 1589 by a permit to obtain building materials, issued by Henry IV.
