St. Martin in Turek was built in 1933, on the 450th anniversary of the birth of Martin Luther, whom he was named after. Its architecture and design are dominated by simplicity and functionalism. For twenty years, the temple operated in an unfinished state, only in the 1950s, a clock and bells were installed on the church tower.
Inside the church of St. Martin is dominated by a monumental altar painting by local artists Einari Wehmas and Karl Ingenius. The fresco is 15 meters high and 9.5 meters wide. It is the largest painting of this type in Finland and one of the largest in Northern Europe. It is also worth paying attention to the pulpit decorated with five sculptures and the plaque with the names of members of the congregation who died during the Second World War.
