Kuopio Music Center is one of the most prestigious and famous concert halls in Finland. It was built in 1985 on the shores of the picturesque Kuopio Bay. The building consists of basements and four above-ground storeys. The main hall can seat 1050 spectators. Its acoustics were designed by professor Alpo Halme.
The Kuopio Music Center also houses three art schools: the Kuopio Conservatory, the Savonia University of Applied Sciences Music and Dance Faculty and the Sibelius Academy Faculty of the Helsinki University of Arts. There is also a restaurant waiting for guests.
