Lemmenjoki National Park is located in the municipality of Inari. It is the largest national park in Finland and one of the largest in Europe. There are over 60 km of marked paths and hiking trails on its territory. There are also a dozen or so wooden huts where you can rest or rent a night.
During a visit to the park in the summer, you can meet gold prospectors and watch the process of washing and extracting the ore from the bottom of the river. There are two small airports in the gold mining area.
There are many species of animals in the Lemmenjoki National Park, including 70 under protection. Large predators such as bears, wolverines and wolves are also found here. It is worth mentioning that reindeer hikes are organized here every year.
