Hofgarten

The park is located in the very center of the city. Its oldest part was founded in 1769, making it the oldest public garden in Germany. Among the green alleys and lawns there are two ponds where you can often find ducks and swans. There are also three playgrounds for children and two playgrounds for dogs.

There are several dozen monuments and other works of art in the park. Among them are monuments to Robert Schumann, Heinrich Heine, Maksymilian Weyhe and a bust of St. Stefan. There are two war memorials, a fairy-tale fountain and bronze animal figures, including a deer and a grazing foal. During the walk, you can also rest on a marble bench with cats made in 1904 by the sculptor Rudolf Bosselt.
