Kenwood Дом и сад
Локальное имя: Kenwood House and Garden
The historic residence was built in the 17th century. Its architecture is dominated by neoclassical and Georgian elements. Until the nineteenth century, the property belonged to the counts of Mansfield, then it passed successively to the hands of the Guinness family and municipal authorities. It has been open to the public since the 1920s. Currently, it is under the care of the English Heritage organization.
The richly decorated interiors were designed by the 18th-century Scottish architect Robert Adam. The Great Library deserves special attention. In addition, you can see collections of antique furniture and works of art. The collected paintings include 63 works by old masters, such as Rembrandt, Vermeer, van den Broecke and Gainsborough.
The residence is surrounded by a garden and park. You can see sculptures by Barbara Hepworth, Henry Moore and Eugène Dodeigne. There is also a café where you can enjoy homemade pastries and hot tea.
