Bournemouth is one of the most famous resorts on the English Channel. It is famous for its almost 15-kilometer-long sandy beach and numerous attractions that will diversify your stay at the seaside.

Until the 19th century, Bournemouth was a fishing town and one of the many small ports in the south of England. However, the growing interest in rest by the sea and sea bathing meant that the city began to change its character. Today, together with the neighboring towns of Pool, Christchurch, Westbourne and Southebourne, it forms one of the most popular holiday areas in England.

Bournemouth's beaches are wide and sandy, perfect for relaxing. The calm sea makes it a popular destination for families with children. You can also practice water sports, such as paddleboarding and sea kayaking. From the local port you can also take a boat trip along the coast.

Bournemouth's main attraction is the Pier. They were built in the 19th century, and in the past there was a theater in the building at its end. Currently, it has been adapted to the needs of the RockReef amusement park with climbing walls, an obstacle course and an artificial cave. From the end of the pier, you can return to the shore with a 250-meter zip-line.

Along the beach there is a promenade with numerous restaurants, bars and shops. There are cinemas, arcades and an oceanarium that is very popular in the city. The Royal Arcade shopping arcade is a good place to shop for souvenirs and arts and crafts. A bit far from the center, but a very pleasant holiday area is Boscombe with its own Boscombe Beach and the modern Boscombe Pier. Gardens located in various parts of the city encourage walks, the most famous of which are the Lower and Upper gardens.
