Ždiar is a holiday resort situated at the foot of the Bialskie Tatras and the Spiš Magura Mountains. There are two ski resorts here, and the attraction of the area is the lookout tower and the treetop path.
A lot of traditional Podhale architecture has survived in the village, with wooden houses and farms arranged in a square. Highlander folklore is alive here and there are several regional bands.
On the outskirts of the village, new housing estates are spreading, with numerous guesthouses, apartments and rooms for rent. This is due to the operation of two ski resorts, Bachledka Ski and Sun and the Ždiar-Strednica Ski Center, which have a total of almost 20 km of slopes.
The biggest attraction in the Ždiar area is the Bachledka Tree Top Trail located in the Bachledka ski resort. It is open all year round and consists of an observation tower from which you can admire the Bialskie, Pieniny and Spisz Tatras and a wooden footpath at the height of the treetops.
