Svätý Jur is a small town in the Little Carpathians with wine traditions dating back to the Middle Ages. Above the city there are ruins of the Biały Kamień Castle, picturesquely situated on one of the peaks of the Little Carpathians.

Due to favorable climatic conditions and fertile soil, vines have been cultivated in the vicinity of Svätý Jur since the Middle Ages. It became the main activity and to this day there are over 400 ha of vineyards on the slopes of the Little Carpathians. Many of them can be visited and participate in tastings organized there.

The town center is small, with some interesting monuments preserved. There is a gothic church of St. George and the Evangelical church from the 18th century were built as a result of the reconstruction of the house of one of the burgher families, the Segners. A valuable monument is a plague column with a sculpture depicting the Holy Trinity, erected in thanks for the end of the epidemic that decimated the inhabitants in 1831. There are also several tenement houses and city palaces with richly decorated facades.

The attraction of the town of Svätý Jur is the White Stone Castle. It rises above the buildings on one of the peaks. It was built in the 13th century and was a stronghold defending the trade route and one of the elements of the defense of nearby Bratislava. Today it is open to the public and provides great views of the surrounding area.
