Łuczeniec is a city whose history dates back to the medieval times. In its center, a lot of historic buildings have been preserved, including pretty tenement houses with baroque and classicist facades.
The city was founded in the 13th century, and during the Hussite wars, a battle victorious for the Hussite troops took place here. Unfortunately, as a result of the war, the city was destroyed, but it was soon rebuilt due to its location on the trade route.
In the center of Łuczeniec is Kubiny Square, surrounded by historic tenement houses. There is a Roman Catholic and Evangelical church here, and a bit further you can see the Synagogue. You can learn about the history and culture of the region in the Novohrad Museum and the Gallery in Łuczeńc.
On the outskirts of the city there is a Galician castle, which now houses a hotel. Its attraction is the surrounding park with flower gardens.
