Masthugg Church was built on top of a high hill near Gothenburg city center. It was erected in 1914 according to the design of Sigfrid Ericson. Its architecture is dominated by the national Nordic romantic style. The 60-meter-high tower draws attention in particular. Currently, the temple has the status of a religious monument.
Inside the church there is an altar with a triptych depicting the following scenes: Ascension, Jesus prayers in the Garden of Olives and death on the Cross. There is also a stone baptismal font designed in 1991 by architect Arne Tollbom, based on a sketch by Sigfrid Ericson. During the tour, it is worth paying attention to the model of the frigate, donated by the Maritime Museum in Gothenburg on the 30th anniversary of the church in 1944.
