Gammelstad Kyrkstad

The architectural complex characteristic of northern Scandinavia, consisting of a church and over 400 small houses, has been included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. The houses were inhabited only on Sundays and holidays, when the faithful who came for services spent the night in them before setting off on their way back.
