Зэвой Парк
Локальное имя: Parcul Zăvoi
Zăvoi Park was established in the city of Râmnicu Vâlcea in the middle of the 19th century. It is one of the oldest public parks in Romania. Among the picturesque alleys there is a lake, several historic monuments and the seat of the city theater Ariel, which regularly hosts both traditional performances and open-air shows.
At the entrance there is a massive carved gate, and right behind it a monument to the founder of the park, Prince Barbu Stirbei, dating from 1920. There is also a statue of the Romanian scientist and revolutionist Nicolae Bălcescu and a fountain built in the 19th century, next to which in 1848 the Romanian national anthem by Anton Panna was sung for the first time. To commemorate this event, the National Anthem Days are organized here every July.
