Warta is a city with a history dating back to the Middle Ages. Several interesting monuments have been preserved here, including the monastery churches of the Bernardines and Bernardines.

The city has had municipal rights since the mid-13th century and was an important commercial center due to its location. In 1423, Władysław Jagiełło issued the Warlock statute here, which was one of the foundations for the emergence of an economy based on great feudal land properties. Throughout its history, the city has burned down many times, which means that only a few monuments from the past centuries have been preserved here.

The oldest of the preserved monuments of the Warta is the Gothic church of St. Nicholas with an interior rebuilt in the Baroque style in the 17th century. At the turn of the 17th and 18th centuries, a baroque church and a Bernardine monastery with a rich interior were built. The small church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, belonging to the Bernardine monastery, comes from the same time.

In the vicinity of the market square in Warta you can see eclectic and neoclassical tenement houses from the 19th century. The city's attractions also include the Museum of the City and the Warta River with exhibitions devoted to the history and culture of the region.
