Церковь Святого Чарльза Борромео

Локальное имя: Kościół św. Karola Boromeusza

Built in a unique Zakopane style, the wooden church of St. Charles Borromeo is one of the most interesting monuments of Nałęczów. Its construction was completed in 1919, and the designer of the entire style, artist Stanisław Witkiewicz, was responsible for the design.

The church has features characteristic of Zakopane architecture enriched with Art Nouveau elements. Inside the temple, there is a painting depicting Saint Charles Borromeo, bishop of Milan, patron saint of the sick. The painting is a copy of the painting from the Warsaw Powązki church.

The temple was erected on the initiative of Ludwika Benia in order to commemorate her deceased husband - a doctor. The building initially served as a chapel. In accordance with the will of the founder, it was later transformed into a church for the patients of the Nałęczów spa and holidaymakers staying in the area.
