Латвийский этнографический музей под открытым небом

Open-air museum on the outskirts of Riga, founded in 1924 and now includes 118 wooden buildings from all 4 lands that make up Latvia.

The area is covered with groves and the buildings have been arranged in such a way that they form small villages, separated from each other by vegetation. This gives an idea of what traditional buildings in rural areas may have looked like in the past.

Among the buildings in the open-air museum, the oldest ones come from the 16th century, and most of them were built in the 18th and 19th centuries. There are both residential houses, a church, a glassworks, a weaving workshop and a traditional bathhouse.
