Rho is a city that is part of the municipal area of Milan. The large FieraMilano international fair center and the Alfa Romeo car factory are located here.
The city was founded in Roman times and developed as a trading settlement. Rich citizens of Milan built their suburban houses here in the Middle Ages. The local surroundings were considered to be beneficial to health, and people moved to rural houses mainly in summer, when the air in Milan was getting too heavy.
Unfortunately, the numerous invasions and wars that ravaged this area meant that not many monuments remained in Rho. In the center you can see some buildings from the 18th and 19th centuries.
Today, the biggest attraction of Rho is the Alfa Romeo Museum located at the factory of this famous Italian car manufacturer. Both vintage and modern cars, those that drove on city streets, as well as racing cars and prototype models are presented here.
