Озеро Мергоццо

A small glacial alpine lake that used to be the northern arm of Lake Maggiore. It was separated from it by sediments deposited by often overflowing mountain rivers. The lake is one of the cleanest in Italy and is home to many species of fish, which attracts anglers. You can also practice water sports here, and there are hiking trails around the reservoir.
