Adits used to transport the output from zinc and lead mines to the Flavia seaport at the beginning of the 20th century. They were built according to the plans of engineer Cesare Vecelli, and the port was named after his daughter. At the time of construction, adits with belts for transporting material were considered one of the wonders of engineering. Currently, along with the entire mining area of Sardinia, it is under UNESCO protection.
