The nature reserve is a natural protected area of Sicily, covering an area of 537.5 ha. The park has different Mediterranean ecosystems, from the prairie to ancient oak forests. The reserve includes Monte Cofano, the famous Mangiapane cave, the Torre di San Giovanni seaside tower and the seasonal Gorgo Cofano swimming pool.
