Церковь Санта-Мария-Ассунта

Medieval church dedicated to the Mother of God. Petrarch's funeral took place here, and the poet was buried in the neighborhood. The main altar, coming from the hermitage of Monte Rua, is the work of the sculptor Francesco Rizzi. There are also 15th-century frescoes painted according to Giotto's school.
