Assaranca Waterfall

The Assaranca Waterfall, also known as Eas a 'Ranca, is one of the main attractions of Ardara in County Donegal. It is located outside the village and can be reached via a walking path. The waterfall takes the form of a multi-level cascade that descends down smooth steps.

Assaranca is considered to be one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Ireland. It is also the most photographed. It is most spectacular after heavy rainfall, when the water stream is very strong.

The waterfall is a cascade that descends into a small cauldron. The stream of water widens downward. It is surrounded by a green rocky slope.
