Moni Platiteras

The monastery is known primarily for its high tower-belfry and the fact that the hero of the fight against the Turks, Fotos Tzavellas, and the first head of the modern Greek state, Ioannis Kapodistrias, are buried here. The monastery buildings come from the 19th century.
