Nordpark
Локальное имя: Nordpark
The picturesque park was established in 1937 as a venue for the presentation of a socialist exhibition. It consists of extensive lawns, symmetrical flower beds, alleys with trees, water features and a Japanese garden. It is also worth visiting a corner with a lake with a fountain and a pond with water lilies.
Originally there were sculptures around the main pool that represented the professions and classes of "creative people". Their authors were such sculptors as Hans Breker, Ernst Gottschalk, Willi Hoselmann and Alfred Zschorsch. Six of the original twelve statues have been preserved until the present day. Currently, in the entire park, you can also see a dozen other works of art, mainly representing contemporary art.
Since 1987, the park has been home to the Aquazoo, where over 500 species of animals are kept. There are aquariums, terrariums and a vast tropical hall.
