The section of the boulevard between the Marengo and Pannecau bridges was named to commemorate the merits of Dominique Roquebert (1744-1811) born in Bayonne, a French officer who became famous for his heroic death in the Tamatave battle. The pedestrian area has several restaurants and lots of parking spaces.
