Náměšť nad Oslavou is a historic town dominated by the silhouette of a Renaissance chateau. The buildings in the center with the market square and tenement houses have also been preserved here.
The castle of Namest nad Oslavou is the most important attraction of the city and its most important monument. The originally Gothic stronghold was rebuilt in the 16th century in the Renaissance style. It houses one of the largest collections of tapestries in the Czech Republic. You can also see the souvenirs of the last owners of the residence and the fully furnished rooms from the beginning of the 20th century.
The castle rises on a hill and is connected with the city by a historic stone bridge. In the center you can see the market square with tenement houses mostly from the 18th and 19th centuries.
Another attraction in Náměšť nad Oslavou is the Butcher's Museum, where you can see the equipment of former slaughterhouses, butcher's tools as well as documents, engravings and photographs depicting the work of butchers.
