Lužná is a small town near Prague, known for the largest railway museum in the Czech Republic.

The town is mentioned already in the 14th century, but until the railway line was built in the 19th century, it developed outside the main Czech economic life. In the forest above the village, you can find the remains of a small Hlavcova castle in the form of an outline of foundations and earth fortifications.

Today Lužná is known primarily for its great attractions for railway enthusiasts, the largest railway museum in the Czech Republic. It was created at the Lužná u Rakovnik station and includes a huge collection of steam locomotives, wagons, diesel locomotives, draisines and other rail vehicles, as well as a collection of narrow-gauge trains.

In the tourist season, the CD Railway Museum can be reached, among others from Prague by a special, historic train, which is an additional attraction for tourists who come here.
