Luká is a town in the Moravian Karst and a good starting point for exploring the surrounding caves and picturesque hiking trails. The ruins of a medieval castle are also nearby.

The town was founded in the Middle Ages and developed as a small craft and trade center. In the neighboring Breziny, which today is part of Luka, there was the Špránek castle, of which only ruins have survived to this day. A hiking trail that is often visited by tourists leads to them. During World War II, a part of Luka called Javoříčko was burnt down by SS troops. This event is recalled by the Victory Monument standing on the site of the former settlement.

The Javorice Caves are the biggest attraction of Luka. There is a 800 m long tourist route leading through underground corridors and rooms with a magnificent dripstone form. You can admire rock draperies, huge stalactites and growths created by water flowing from the walls and vaults of the cave.
