Kamýk is a village in the Czech Mountains, surrounded by forested hills and deep stream valleys. It is a good place for active tourism, and the most important monument is the ruins of the medieval Kamýk Castle.

The village was founded at the beginning of the 14th century at the foot of the castle standing on a rocky hill. Today, the ruins of Kamýk Castle are a popular destination for excursions. The tower and part of the walls have been preserved. You can also see how the building was embedded in the rock in which part of it was carved. The ruins are also a good viewpoint on the surrounding area.

The area around Kamýk is attractive for people who like hiking. There are many paths and routes that can be reached, among others to the baroque chapel of St. John the Baptist on the slope of the Plesivec mountain and to the Plesivec wilderness, declared a natural monument.
