The Eriksberg Museum has been divided into several parts. Permanent exhibitions show the history of the city and its vicinity (photos, sculptures, literature) as well as outstanding personalities related to this region, the figure of the painter Herman Norrman and the speedway rider Ove Fundin.
For one hundred years (from 1884), the present seat of the museum served as a school (Eriksberg Folkskola). At one of the exhibitions, you can see antique classroom furniture and old textbooks. In 1985, the building was thoroughly renovated and a regional museum was established.
The exhibition devoted to the speedway rider, multiple national, European and world champion, shows his greatest successes. Medals and cups are displayed here, you can also see archival photos from the most important competitions. Visitors to the museum will also learn about the works of Herman Norrman, whose works are on display at the National Museum and the Gothenburg Art Museum.
