Langhammars Nature Reserve on Fårö, Gotland, has long rocky beaches with several meters high monadnocks dating back to the Ice Age (Rauks). However, most of the peninsula is occupied by pastures and farms that were established here in the 18th century (including the Bondan farm).
The nature of this region is largely related to sheep grazing, large fragments are covered with moors, wet meadows and small fragments of limestone. The wind-resistant juniper grows in some places and has not been damaged by sheep flocks.
The reserve is inhabited by a large population of the common toad, which has been displaced here from other regions of Sweden.
