Museumpiece Sankt Erik & amp; Finngrundet

Nombre local: Museifartygen Sankt Erik & Finngrundet

Two historic ships moored at the entrance to Stockholm's Vasa Museum, left and right of the quay. Sankt Erik is the first Swedish icebreaker built in 1915, while Finngrundet is a lighthouse built in 1902-1903. Both ships are the property of one of the largest maritime museums in Sweden and also the most popular museum in Stockholm.

Sant Erik was used in Sweden, but also elsewhere by the Swedish government. As an icebreaker, it has a specially reinforced characteristic black riveted hull and a single funnel. Inside, visitors can see a reconstruction of the life of seafarers in the early 20th century.

In its heyday, Finngrundet was used to illuminate dangerous places on shipping routes. Withdrawn from service in 1969, today it is a unique museum ship. It has a characteristic red hull.
