The Orthodox Bujoreni monastery was built at the turn of the 16th and 17th centuries. It is surrounded by a forest and a 5-kilometer forest trail leads to it from the main road. The monastic church was thoroughly rebuilt at the end of the 18th century. When visiting, it is worth paying attention especially to the colorful paintings decorating its internal walls and the gilded iconostasis.
The monastery was destroyed in 1940 as a result of an earthquake. It was restored and continued to function until 1958, when it was secularized. It was not until the 1990s that the monastery was re-consecrated. At that time, new cells and farm buildings were added, and the church was restored.
