The collection of the history and archeology museum includes more than 430,000 items, from the Paleolithic to the present day. They include Ancient Greek, Roman, Byzantine and Medieval collections. You can see tools and weapons made of stone, bronze and iron, as well as ceramics and architectural elements such as capitals, pediments and columns.
Among the collected items there are also collections of jewelry, coins, icons and documents. There is also a collection of historical maps, glassware, silver, gold and bronze products, as well as a collection of furniture, clothes and photographs.
In two rooms on the ground floor there are unique exhibits, such as the Glykon Snake, dating back to the 2nd century AD, which is the world's only artistic representation of this deity. On the upper floors, the collections are presented chronologically.
