Museo Nacional George Enescu

Nombre local: Muzeul Național "George Enescu"

The National Museum "George Enescu" in Bucharest was founded in 1956. It is dedicated to the life and work of the outstanding Romanian composer and musician, George Enescu. It is housed in the historic Cantacuzino Palace, built in the early 20th century in Art Nouveau style.

The permanent exhibition is located in three rooms of the palace. It allows you to trace the events in the artist's life chronologically. Photographs, manuscripts, musical instruments and personal items are collected here. They include the first violin that Enescu received as a gift at the age of four, and the decorations he received during World War I.

The House of Remembrance was established in a small house behind the palace, originally serving as an administrative function. It stores the personal belongings of the musician and his wife, which have mainly commemorative and sentimental value.
