The New Lublin Gate was built as the last of the five new city gates during the modernization of the fortress in Zamość in the years 1821-1822. It is built in the classical style. The building is distinguished by a monumental, stone facade and oak branches carved on the external facade (a symbol of courage). Currently, there is a restaurant in the gate.
After World War II, it housed a bus station. In the years 1977-1982, the Gate was restored and the wooden bridge connecting it with the ravelin (earth rampart) was reconstructed. There is also an amphitheater and a statue of King David nearby. The gate was renovated again in 2007-2009.
