Świeradów-Zdrój is a holiday and health resort in the Izera Mountains. It is a good base for hiking along the nearby routes, including to Stóg Izerski and Polana Izerska. In winter, there is also a ski resort with a year-round gondola lift.

The first records of the local mineral waters come from the second half of the 16th century. More or less at that time the first settlement was established here, which developed mainly as a craft center. It was also inhabited by lumberjacks working in the surrounding forests. At the end of the 18th century, the first mineral water intake was built in Świeradów and the construction of a health resort began. It was the first place in Lower Silesia where, apart from drinking mineral water, mud compresses were also used for patients.

The development of the health resort continued throughout the 19th century. Many boarding houses and the Spa House were built then, as well as a 70-meter wooden Walking Hall connected with the pump room. To this day, it is a pearl of the spa buildings and an ornament of the local spa park.

Due to its location in the Izera Mountains, Świeradów Zdrój is also a center of active summer and winter recreation. There are a dozen or so hiking trails leading to various points of the Izera Mountains and the Main Trail of the Sudetes. Mieczysław Orłowicz. The Ski and Sun Świeradów-Zdrój ski center operates on the slopes of Stóg Izerski, one of the highest peaks in this mountain group. In summer and winter, the Świeradów-Zdrój gondola runs here, which serves skiers and tourists.

In the village, you can also see well-preserved buildings from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries and a working water mill, Czarci Młyn. An attraction and curiosity of Świeradów is the Izerskie Antigravity Point, where cars go up the hill by themselves.
