Fuerte Wysoka Skała
Nombre local: Fort Wysoka Skała
The fort, also known as: Hohenstein, Rogowy II or Harcerz, belongs to the Srebrna Góra Fortress complex. For many years it was inaccessible to visitors. Currently, the facility is waiting for a change of tenant and development for tourist purposes. It can be viewed from the outside.
Fort Wysoka Skała was built in the years 1768-1771 as an auxiliary fort for the Srebrna Góra Fortress. It was supposed to guard the approach to the Donjon and control the town and the surrounding hills. In its heyday, the facility had 10 casemates and 14 shooting rooms, for which 6 officers and 115 soldiers were required.
In the years 1926-1928, the monument underwent renovation, and then it was transformed into a recreation and training center for the Ząbkowice police. In the post-war period, however, it was used by the ZHP to run summer camps.
