Monasterio de Fonte Avellana, Scriptorium

Roman Catholic monastery and hermitage founded by a group of hermits living in this place around 980 AD. It was raised to the rank of an abbey in 1325. One of the most important features of its architecture is that the hermits' cells were built as apartments-flats with a separate place for sleeping and prayer.
