This octagonal white marble fountain was donated by Podestà Alvise Contarini in 1780. There are statues of sphinxes, snakes and lions around the pool guarding the fountain. Nowadays, the monument has mainly an aesthetic function, but immediately after its construction, the fountain served as a water reserve.
