Parco della Rocca Borromea

Ruins of a former watchtower on Lake Maggiore. Together with the twin Rocca Borromea of Angera, it was one of the main strategic control points of Lake Maggiore in ancient times. The fortress was built before the year 1,000, it was built by the Lombards. In 1800 it was destroyed by the Napoleonic army.
