Estatua de Molly Malone

Nombre local: Molly Malone Statue

The Molly Malone statue shows a young woman in 17th-century attire pushing a stroller. It is the title character of the popular folk song "Molly Malone". The statue was designed by Jeanne Rynhart and erected on the occasion of the city's first millennium in 1988. June 13 was declared Molly Malone Day.

The statue originally stood on Grafton Street, but was later removed and placed in storage. It is currently on Suffolk Street, but Dubliners expect it to be moved back to its first location.

According to legend, Molly Malone was a poor girl who lived in Dublin in the 17th century. She traded fish during the day and her body at night. She died young from a fever. However, there is no evidence that he was a historical figure.
